Future of millions of journalists stuck on recognition of web media in India.

The future of millions of journalists has been stalled over the recognition of web media in India. The central government has not yet come up with a concrete strategy for recognition of web media. Thousands of print media newspapers have been closed and thousands are about to be closed due to rising inflation. Now the journalists associated with them have also moved towards the web media. Anurag Saxena, National President of the Journalist Council of India said that web-journalism has become the most accessible medium of news for remote readers today. The number of journals based on paper is constantly increasing. This includes daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly all types of newspapers and magazines. As a matter of fact we can consider them as news oriented, educational, political, economic, etc. Although the convenience of online on the internet has removed the barriers localism, but if we categorize the news on the basis of the importance and relevance of the news, then also online journalism is preferred these days. We can look at local, regional, national or international level.
Mr. Saxena said that even though the print media journalists are aware of the importance of web journalism & its the demand of the senario but still due to lack of facilities by the state & Central govt provided tp them they are not able to switch to web media whole heartedly. However, now some state governments have taken the initiative to give rights to journalists of web media.
The policy of advertising on websites has been formulated by the Central Government but no concrete strategy has been formulated so far for its recognition. Recently, the policy of advertising on websites made in 2016 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh on 10 February 2020 Amendments have also been made but in the end it has also made it clear that it should only be considered as listed not as a process of registration.
The Journalist Council of India Gen Secretary Danish Jamal has recently sought a letter through the Lok Sabha Speaker and Leader of Opposition to raise our voice for the recognition of the Web Media in the House.
There is still confusion regarding the recognition of web portals. In response to the complaint through a letter from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, it has been clarified that the Web Portal does not come under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The Journalist Council of India organization demands that the government should soon recognize the web media So that messing with the future of millions of journalists associated with web media can be saved.
