Chandigarh – In an intensive drive against liquor smuggling, Haryana Police have confiscated 945 boxes of illicit desi liquor from a canter in Nuh district.
Giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that the arrested driver of the vehicle has been identified as Anil Kumar. A Police team received a tip-off that a canter bearing Haryana registration number was carrying a huge quantity of liquor going towards Alwar, Rajasthan passing through Nuh. Upon getting input, police established a naka on Delhi-Alwar Road in the district and intercepted the canter. During checking of the vehicle, the police recovered 945 cartons (190 of bottles, 390 of half and 365 boxes of quarter) of desi liquor of Mastana brand having 11522.5 full bottles. A case under relevant sections of Excise Act has been registered against the accused and further investigation into this case is underway. Earlier also a consignment of illegal liquor (415 cartons) has been seized by the police in Nuh.
