Riya Sen (Riya Dev Varma) is an Indian film actress and model. Riya, who comes from a family of actors including her grandmother Suchitra Sen, mother Moon Moon Sen, and sister Raima Sen. She began her acting career in 1991 as a child actress in the film Vishkanya. Her first commercial success in her film career was with Style in the year 2001. Riya has, in addition to Hindi films, appeared in Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and English.
Riya became a popular model when she appeared in numerous music videos for songs by pop inger including Falguni Pathak’s Yaad Piya Ki Ane Lag (alternative title:Chudi Jo Khankayi). Asha Bhosle’s
Jhumka Gira Re, Jagjit Singh, and Asha Bhosle’s Jab Samne Tum and Kahin Kahin Se, Lata Mangeshkar, Bhonsle and Singh’s Dil Kahin Hosh Kahin, Sonu Nigam’s Jeena Hai Tere Liye and Shan’s Sutta Maro. She shot for her first music video, Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi, at the age of sixteen.
Riya, who debuted in Bollywood as a child artist with 1991’s Vishkanya and as a leading lady in 2001’s superhit film Style was recently making headlines after her latest web series Pati Patni Aur Woh released on the streaming plattorm, MX Player.
Prasun Kulshrestha:Riya, Please tell us about the thoughts & ambition that you had when you were to start your first film?
Riya:I got into this industry quite by chance and didn’t really thought or was ambitious.
Prasun Kulshrestha:Why did you choose Tamil film as your first film after working in 1991 as child artist & how Style clicked as an entry to Bollywood?
Riya:Bharti Rajan is a very successful and well-known director, so once he approached me for the film with a leading role, of course, I agreed. Speaking of Style, it was a huge box office success which then cemented my career tor the next ten years.
Prasun Kulshrestha:Consistently you had been working into films for a very long time now. What is your motivation towards being so devoted to this industry?
Riya:As I mentioned before, I am into this industry quite by Chance and achieved success very quickly. That momentum motivated me to keep going and down the years, have had the good fortune of picking and choosing the projects I really want work for.
Prasun Kulshrestha:Tell us about that day when you realized that you had achieved whatever you had aimed for?How was the feeling?
Riya:I haven’t yet achieved all that I wanted to and when I do, I will answer this question dgain

Prasun Kulshrestha:What would be an ideal character you would want to play someday?
Riya:I would love to play the role of a paranormal spirit.
Prasun Kulshrestha:Tell us about failures, how do you face it & what becomes your inspiration to win over it.
Riya:Failures are the building blocks for
success. Any perceived failure that only made me want to work harder.
Prasun Kulshrestha:If you woke up and had 2,000 unread emails and could only answer 300 of them how would you choose which ones to answer?
Riya:Emails trom friends and family will take priority.
Prasun Kulshrestha:”Noukadubi” to “Pati Patni Aur Woh”, your acting performance has changed drastically a lot & appreciated in each project .How did you change your acting performance over the years?
Riya:Each character call for an unique execution methodology. Thus. no two roles will have the same acting.
Prasun Kulshrestha:How difficult is it for a new artist in the Bollywood industry to get
an opportunity to work? What do
you suggest to d struggling artist?
