Journalist Council of India demands Web Media’s recognition in the House

* Journalist Council of India wrote a letter to the Speaker and Leader of the Opposition, Shri Mati Sonia Gandhi, for recognition of the Web Media and to give respect to their journalists.

The Journalist Council of India (Reg) organization through a letter from the Lok Sabha Speaker and Leader of Opposition demanded recognition of the Web portals and honoring their journalists.
In the letter, the National President of the organization Mr. Anurag Saxena has said that the Journalist Council of India (Reg) Org of Journalists wants to make you aware that our right to speak and speak in democracy is one of the basic constitutional rights. Media persons expose his life to risk for reporting. In today’s time, the grip of social media has become easy for the public. In view of this, small newspapers initially turned to web portals and they were successful in spreading their message to the public.Web media has become the most accessible medium to reach the public today.
Advertisement policy was made for them by the government and changes were also made but the government has not given any guidelines regarding their recognition.
This web portal today also fully complies with the Press Act, but the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting does not give any reply when it comes to their recognition. Earlier, Mr. Saxena sent a letter to the Prime Minister’s Office regarding the recognition of the Web portals. In response to which a letter was received from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in which the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting refused to consider the web portals as part of it.
Mr. Saxena has said in his letter that in such days there are misleading propaganda about the Web portals and their recognition, due to which their journalists do not get their due respect.
Today, every responsible person, whether he is a public representative of the government or a leader of the opposition or an administrative officer, keeps his talk on the Web Media, but when it comes to its recognition, they maintains silence.
Today, the future of millions of journalists associated with the country’s web media is in darkness of uncertainty due to their recognition.
Journalist Council of India, the journalists’ organization, demands from you that the issue of recognition of web media should come up prominently in the House of the country.
In a strong reply, Mr. Saxena said that the Journalist Council of India will always take up whatever issue is in the interest of journalists.
